Büyükyalı Uluslararası Montessori Okulu

About Us

As part of the International Montessori School team, with over a quarter-century of experience in children’s education in the USA, we are proud to be opening a new preschool in Büyükyalı, Istanbul, following the establishment of the Istanbul Montessori Institute (IME) and our IME Pembe Kule Model Kindergarten.

Trained by the Istanbul Montessori Institute, which holds international accreditation and is affiliated with the American Montessori Society (AMS), our teachers offer a bilingual, English-Turkish, Montessori education in classrooms prepared to universal standards for children aged 36 to 72 months, based on a child-centered educational approach.

Using the Montessori education method and its rich didactic materials, we provide a comprehensive preschool education program that offers an excellent opportunity for the full development of your child’s intellectual, social-emotional, and physical abilities.

Our goal is:

In our carefully prepared Montessori classrooms, designed to uncover the true potential of each child, our education includes:

Our mixed-aged classrooms are tailored to stimulate curiosity and exploration in each child according to their individual development level and interests. The environment is calibrated to offer opportunities for progress at their own pace.

We extend our classroom activities to every aspect of life through nature, art, science, and culture workshops. By integrating academic fields like language, mathematics and the sciences into each other, alongside practical life lessons, we present a holistic model that touches upon every aspect of the child’s life.

Through our supportive program called “Kitchen Ecology,” in collaboration with “EkBiçYeİç” and “Biones,” we nurture children as small scientists by involving them in the entire process of their food—from seed stage, planting, growth, and harvest, to the ecological systems associated with it.

We believe that children who observe, measure, experiment, tinker, and recognize differences will gain early experience and knowledge in fields such as mathematics, chemistry, biology, agriculture, environment, botany, and zoology.

In our natural playground, which the children use every school day, children will be immersed in nature and life processes. They will grow up to become future chefs, permaculturists, eco-designers, chemists, biologists, doctors, nutrition and health experts, information technology managers, social scientists, and, most importantly, individuals who value humanity, knowledge, life, and every entity and process around them.
